-
- A teaser:
-
- 320x200 hires (i.e. not multicolor)
- full-screen: perhaps 5-10 fps
- half-screen: perhaps 20-30 fps
-
- By half-screen I mean if you are close enough to an object that it fills
- half the screen.
-
- Last night my friend George Taylor suggested something to me to improve
- my fill routine; it is now working, faster, and I have not measured how
- much faster, hence the "perhaps" above. The old version did 4-8 fps
- full-screen and 15-25 fps half screen.
-
- I daresay, it's totally bitchin'.
-
- Note that it is not a DOOM type thingie. For one thing, I have never
- seen or played DOOM. For another, I have no interest in making my C64
- look or act like a slow PC. I just wanted to attack a problem I have been
- interested in, and see what I could come up with. I began analytical
- work in October and I began coding in December.
-
- It will be finished very soon.
-
- I had planned to write it up for C=Hacking but unless the deadline gets
- extended I'm not sure I'll make it.
